I don't know if this has been asked before, but are you planning on creating a SAS Landrover pack, with customised 110s?

It has been asked before and yes I will be doing them, they'll be the Gulf War style ones, I've already saved a copy of the armed Wolf model prior to adding all the details (at the moment it just looks like a 110 with the doors removed and no windscreen) I'll probably do 3 versions, one with a dummy GPMG on the front and a working .50 on the back,  another one with a working GPMG on the front and a dummy .50 and one with a dummy GPMG and a working Mk19 Grenade Launcher on the back. Should be a nice combination qworking together on a patrol  ;)
Since the OPF engine doesn't allow missiles on vehicles I can't do one armed with a Milan.

Can't you get the two weapons to work together?
If you can't instead of having a dummy 50., how about a double GPMG turret in its place.

Also I've seen a Humvee addon with a TOW AT launcher on it. There must be a way around it.
Anyway I look forward to it.

The OPF engine only allows one weapon on a vehicle as for a twin GPMG turret they didn't have them, they had a pintle mounted .50 on the back and a GPMG mounted on the front,, have a look at the pics here http://www.neatstuffmodels.com/landrover.html they're models but they show the layout pretty well - I don't think the GPMG mount is quite right though  :-\ It also show the Warminster, which is what I want my open 110s and 90s to be like.
Since they don't operate on their own, usually in groups of 3-4 (from memory) if you use a combination of dummy front and rear gun vehicles then you should be able to cover all angles e.g a Live GPMG vehicle at the front and a live .50 vehicle at the back with a Mk19 armed vehicle in the middle.

I think that Humvee might be using a bullet with it's properties changed so it has the same explosive charecteristics as a TOW round.

Well thought out. Are you going to add anything else to increase the capability of them. Example, more armor improved menouverability (not sure on the spelling), harder to hit the crew.

One of the problems I find with cars with weapons, is whenever you do an SAS vehicle style attack on a enemy base you get very quickly, the enemy just lie down a shoot you. The gunners are also a problem, you'd want them to spray MG fire all over the enemy, but they hardly fire a few rounds before they get killed.

Also the drivers of the jeeps always slow down whenever they come to an enemy, "eh, excuse me have you seen any soldiers dressed in Soviet military attire carrying AK74s?"

Apart from having a V8 petrol engine the SAS 110 differs very little from a standard 110 mechanically (the standard service 110 has a 2.5l NA Diesel), so it'll perform very similarly to the standard 110 apart from being a bit quicker (not that much with the weight of all the extra equipment) they're not armoured and the crew is very exposed their main asset is speed and surprise.
The problems you mentioned with attacks are due to the AI, I find it's difficult to organise a convoy of more than 2 vehicles under AI control - I tried to take all the landies (all 8 versions) on a tour round Nogova and found that even though they were all parked neatly at the side of the road the AI soon managed to get them facing at all angles in a big mess in the middles of the road and they just sat there watching the one in the middle reverse back and for hitting the others trying to get out, in the end I had to sort it out myself. Personally I think armed vehicles are more useful in multiplayer where the driver will actually drive fast and run over enemy troops if they get in the way.

I wasn't going to do it as part of this lot because it would be a completely new model, but I am planning a 127/130 ambulance and possibly a XD130 ambulance.

Got some pics of the Wolf Rapid Deployment Vehicle, big thanks to Vade_101 for these(especially the first one which has a top down view!):

hi DeLitlMon :-)

I downloaded your Rovers. On my PC are some bugs on textures - seatings are white, and some places on both cars are grey. I'm looking forward for your complete pack of Rovers :-) GREAT WORK !!!!     :) :) :)

Some bit's will be untextured because I haven't done them yet, I decided to put them up because it could be a while before I get time to do the textures.

Speaking of time, I've just come back from house hunting in Bristol, and I've found somewhere! With a bit of luck I could be moving in next Monday  ;D so hopefully soon I'll be back on track to finishing these beasties  ;)

Here's a pic of continueing work on the LRPV. As you can see the M2 mount has been totally reworked  to match the real thing.

Mmm, that Perentie looks better every time I see it! I can see that brute getting poached for RSF service  ;)

Damn right you can have a trial! At the mo we just run games off cplme's (Supafly's) PC, but he's sorting a server out for us. Sorry we didn' sort this earlier mate  :-\ Any addons you need we can transfer with MSN, so no worries. Next time your on MSN we can discuss which squadron (Mobility/Boat, Air or Infantry) you want to join... basically, if you join Mob Sqn you raz around on bikes, Landies and get to play with boats (and get to experience my own speacial brand of leadership  ;)), if you go to Air you get to play around with helicopters with Deadmeat and Supafly, and if you pick Inf you can do parachute jumps and get all muddy with Lilty...  ;)
