MP briefing driving me nuts
« on: 22 May 2007, 21:26:16 »
Hi all.
I'm working in this multiplayer mission and everything but the briefing works like it should.
The problem I have is with the objectives; the mission is a coop with two sides playable, East and West (BLUFOR and OPFOR), and the objectives kip on messing things up. It makes the other sections of the briefing (the custom ones) appear all in the main page, the objectives for East and West appear on both briefings, not how it should work.
I been cheking out many tutorials for MP briefings and as far as I know I haven't done nothing wrong. I used templates, I un-PBOed some custom missions from OFP, and some of the oficial MP missions from ArmA to use as examples and even templates, but nothing works OK.
I quote the damn thing below an please God, be one of you guys the one to spot the problem with this bloody briefing.

Currently, the traitor's identity is unknown to us, but we know about the meeting and what is about. We know that he left with some important top secret documents and that he will return for more, so the informer will be on his SLA officer's uniform.
Our Special Forces have been doing a lot of hit and run missions around the airport. There is only one possible route that the enemy can consider safe for transport, and that is through here. They are well aware of our MANPADs and the only way by air transport in and out of that airbase is North approach, so we believe that they'll transport the officer by road through this route.
The area around the route is well protected, so stay away from any patrols that may try to do a search on your vehicle or on yourself if you are on foot.
An SLA officer is changing sides and have vital information that will lead us to the location of a major weapons cache. Escort the officer to Somato from the airbase. The SLA have spies all over Paraiso, and they'll try to kill the informer, deploy snipers around the area and make a plan to escort the informer safe to target. Use any vehicles at your dispossal.
We think that the fastest and safest route is through this road.
The best way to get to our base in Somato is by this route. We have many units on patrol around that area, any other routes are to hazardous.
Be aware that its a high risk mission due to the presence of SLA secret agents in the vicinity, and is very possible that they'll attempt to kill the SLA officer.
It will be easier for the informer to evade small arms fire by seating in the back of a HMMWV if the vehicle behind drives close enough to stop the line of fire of a possible sniper shot.
Back to plan

Vehicles, Weapons and intel

There are different vehicles at your disposal.
you can use the HMMWV's for extra protection, they are armed so you'll gain some fire power while on the move if you come across any trouble.
Use the civilian vehicles if you want to be less noticed by anybody. Notice that you'll lose the extra fire power and protection by using civilian vehicles, and if in need to engage you'll have to dismount.
The biggest problem will be driving through the streets of Paraiso, where we believe the convoy could be hit, and if anything goes on there the best weapon to have will be the MP5.
You might want to take a look at BAS_f here. It comes with MP briefing templates.

Ah, thanks, it looks very interesting :good:
I downloaded it and I'll try it now. I deleted the objectives anyway, because I was in a hurry to send that mission to the clan, but I think I'll update it and release a public one with the objectives in it.
Thanks for the info. :good:
