Bunkers and Trenches

Ok, I just had an idea for making trenches, fox holes, and sandbags bunkers. Why not make bunkers like we would a static vehicle? I don't know if its possible to set up a unit to be able to use his own rifle from a vehicle, but I know you can use vehicle mounted weapons right? So all you need to do is make a static trench with perhaps a MG position and several other trench 'passenger' locations in it where players would 'get in' the trench.

Its a bunker, but how well does the AI use it though?

like the bunker supplied by BIS, i presume you just have to set a waypoint to get in???  :-\   i dont have it myself but i could ask

Does it work that way though? Kinda of like a vehicle when you set the 'get in' waypoint?

there is a trench addon which from the side kinda looks like this

its pretty good, if you want it give me your email, the addon isnt orignally mine tho

as for sandbag bunkers, it isnt that hard, ou just eed to use setpos a lot lol

For trenches, the island maker maybe could make it into their map by lowering the elevation in a line.

Where can I find the BIS bunker? I didn't see anything posted at their site.

no the fortress/bunker thats already in the game.........thats the BIS model im talking about

Well that's disappointing but thanks for clearing that up.

That is an interesting point however. Some talented addon makers should make some new above ground bunker/fortress models. A lot of effort is going into below ground bunker problems and certainly a lot of vehicle models are being created. I wonder how hard it would be to come up with a couple new fort designs? Something pretty simple like the ones in the current game but a little different.

I know others have build pillboxes which are nearly indestructable. Yet others have created some stacks of sandbags that look quite unnatural. Some other choices would be nice. A huge pillbox in the jungle doesn't quite fit.

Hello.
My mod, the Great Assault Mod, is working on some new buildings and Bunkers/Fortifications.
But we need members, that the stuff gets finished soon.
Then u could have a lot of your ideas ingame

this may sound stupid right now.....but ull find too many requests but soo little time.......... is the approach ull come to when working on a MOD........especailly a big one
ie... BAS - they had to scrap a few projects.....
any way back on topic..............
it isnt used by ai............its manly used for multiplayer (the bunker in the M60 picture)
