Scalars in "format" ? (GetDammage)

Anyone been able to print the value of the damage of a unit?

I did

hint format["%1",GetDammage _vehicle0]

It gives me "scalar"
Code: [Select]
_dam = GetDammage _vehicle0
hint format["%1", _dam]

gives me "<null>"


any ideas?
