that looks like a monstrosity, a mix between the a10 thunderbolt and that British WW2 long range intereptor (anyone know what im talking about)

a static B52 would look pretty cool sitting on a runway.

Well back to them B52's. First off whoever said that the thing has to fly at 8000m? And you can take almost any lane off in ofp, just gotta get a runway long enough(make an island). And the game dosnt lag that much when you set off that many explosives. I once set of 400 sachel charges and it only lagged for a second. They would serve a pourpose too because they can do bombing runs on enemy camps, liek they did to them POW camps in nam(saw it on the history channel bout 5 min ago).

jeez, your comp can handle 400 satchels?!?!?!?!  imean, explosions arent that hard to draw, but the shrapnel trajectories have to be calculated in real time, thousands of shards being calculated really lags me up, well, only for a second heh

in Linebacker 2 they didnt blow up our POW camps.  ::)

aerial photography of Hanoi was VERY extensive.  There were U2 flights over hanoi more than twice a day!  the goal of operation Linebacker 2 was the systematic destruction of weapon and training facilities, railways, roads and the carpet bombing of the Ho Chi Minh trail.  In no way was the Hanoi Hilton, or any other subsidiary POW camps, destroyed by any US bomb, nor did any US pilot in any of these camps become a friendly casualty...

ummmmm - having a B52 flying at a normal height in ofp? u gotta be kidding me - i wouldnt want one of those things any where above me at that height - no eardrums left :noo:

just script it - no one can see a B52 in ofp and its too fast - and having a B52 fly at 250 is a joke - u try and fly summit that big soo slow... its just not very realistic and this is way too big for the game

now a Nighthawk would rock, cos its small, does low level flights and has Jdams (ooh i love them) - great plane with huge potential

B52 - stick with a script - IMHO

yeah. just play a recording of a plane flying overhead, and camcreate a ton of bombs. i still think a static b52 is pretty feasible.

wouold it be possible, that if your the one and only gunner, when you switch weapons, you switch guns?? like, you could select nose gun, and you move ino the cockpit, then you choose tail gun, go into the tail, belly gun, ball turret, bombardier, etc...
im assuming its impossible, but thatd be very cool, kinda like in that b-17 videogame.

Okay then well a B52 wouldnt be visable for units on the ground, but what about the units up in the air. Not not mention the commands the leader sets could be used to have it bomb things helping the pilot hit around the target. The enemy can try to shoot the b52 down while in the air. The plane would look really cool in cinimatics and adds more to the enviroment.

The idea that an infantry leader could spot targets for a B52 in OFP is crap.  Can they in real life?  Sure.

But have you ever tried to get an A10 to attack a laser target?  Hell of a time, that is.  And an A10 is designed to fly low and slow...imagine the B52 wallowing around the sky trying to line up a bomb run...damn near impossible.
