Mod for CWR, replaces CWR_voice.pbo
« on: 29 Mar 2010, 06:40:47 »
Hi, this is my first post and so I'll get right into it:

As a longtime player of OFP/ArmA/ArmA2 I've always hated the voice acting in the game. The radio comms especially grate me. But I really like the radio voices in the original demo from February(?) 2001. So I'm modifying the CWR_voice.pbo file to use the voices from the original voice.pbo included in the first demo. So far I've replaced everything that has an equivalent, and now I'm working on how to create files to fill in what's missing (probably going to chop up a lot of single syllables from the existing files to create new ones).

Really the reason I'm posting is to find out if anyone would be interested in this mod, and if I should release it when I'm finished, and do I need permission from the CWR team to do so?

TIA

Being that its Arma, you may not get much support. If your modifying something, permission is a definite way to keep the peace. If your borrowing resources, credits should do fine.
