How to toggle between Cadet and Veteran mode?

Hi people, please don't laugh at me, but maybe it's lack of sleep or a beginning burnout, but....

I can't find the button to change the difficulty settings back to "cadet", while I somehow managed to toggle it to "veteran" while playing the CWR Abandoned Armies mission a few days before. There are the options that are available in each difficulty setting, but I can't find the button to switch between them. 
What I see in my difficulty screen is attatched to the post.

You can select the difficulty just before mission selection screen.
Not in difficulty options itself.

For SP during mission selection on the right side is a button.
The editor uses the currently active one.
For MP in the screen of mission selection again.
