Missions in Depot (& Review) not latest version
« on: 24 Mar 2009, 19:17:46 »
Sometimes a link from the Missions Depot (and the corresponding Review) are to a version that was superceded according to the beta thread. For instance:

OFP: Eviction by Schuler
Link on Review page is Eviction1.zip - despite the title being "Eviction (1.4)" !
In the Review Completed section, Eviction v1.4.zip was available around the time the review was written.

OFP: A Touch of Frost by ACF
Review page: A_Touch_of_Frost_v1.1.zip
Thread: ACF_A_Touch_of_Frost_v1-11.zip

What's the best way of bringing this to the attention of the powers that be?

Thank you once again for not only spotting those errors Walter but for taking the time to notifying us. Both files have been updated and now offer the latest versions according to their beta threads. If you discover any more, feel free to update this thread sir.

Slightly different issue this time. I've been trawling through the old pages of the Beta Testing / Submission thread, looking for working links. I've found a couple where it's possible to download the last version of a mission and which don't have reviews. They are six years old, however.

Would it make sense to revivify these threads?

1. Darkness before Dawn by DarkAngel    ---> Review by kuro at Archive.Org
Only Editor Upgrade required
Can be downloaded from www.geocities.com/tomlemans2000/DarkAngel.html - 51 kB

According to beta-testers, this was heading for a score of 7 or 8. I've only tested it to make sure it starts - Intro works fine, and mission begins with no errors.

2. Green Faces by futurehornetdriver
SEALs in 'Nam mission. Requires Nam Pack 2, BAS Delta/Rangers (but only for a camoed face) & Remo's F4
Can be downloaded from www.freewebs.com/reconmercs/ - 5.72 MB

Updated: Added two more:

3. Critical Rendezvous by Tobruk
Requires Invasion '44 v1.2, Streetlamps, Bunker Packs 1 & 4 and Editor Upgrade
Can be downloaded from http://pages.infinit.net/tobruk/ - 1.59 MB

4. Eye of the Pig by Cornholio   ---> Review by kuro at Archive.Org
Requires Editor Upgrade (included) and maybe also VoiceRH.pbo (from Red Hammer) for Russian-accented voices
Can be downloaded from www.freewebs.com/dikked/ - 360 kB

Further Updated:

5. SAS v1.1 by max_killer_payne
Requires SEB British Special Forces and DKMM Choppers
Download can be found at the bottom of page 1 of the thread - 75 kB

6. Teach the Rebels a Lesson by max_killer_payne
Requires BAS Delta/Rangers, BAS Blackhawks + SOAR, OFPEC Blood and JAM
Download can be found in the thread - 85 kB

7. Capital Assault by Captain Winters
Requires BAS Delta / Rangers, OFPEC Blood and CAT Fire & Storms
Download can be found at the bottom of page 1 of the thread - 8.30 MB

8. Waiting for the Hammer v1.2 by Captain Winters
Only Editor Upgrade required
Download can be found on page 2 of the thread - 3.79 MB

Thank you again for the heads up in this area Walter. We apologize for any inconvenience that it has caused and would like to inform all of you that the depot has been under the scope lately. We are about to begin reworking that area to clean up our space a bit and provide a better browsing area for our active members. Thank you for your patience in this matter.
