Can Group follow player?

 Say I'm playing an AI MP game. Is it possible to have AI vehicles or men follow us? Its sort of a chain of command issue. One is a Captain, he has 2 Commanders under him, each Commander has 2 Lieutenant Commanders under him (follow me?) Each Lieutenant Commander has 4 Lt's under him, then 4 LT JG's under them....and we still havent gotten to enlisted ranks.
 Somebody has to drive vehicles, do maintenance, sweep the hangars, etc. Most bases and battlegrounds seem too sanitary.
 I guess back to the basic question, I'm allowed 4 AI, how do I get an AI 5t open MG to follow me?

 I was planning on using it for a rear guard unit so we dont get outflanked. Also to send multiple companies to a battlezone by following only one person.
