BI Game LAG Discussion
« on: 11 Jan 2009, 18:43:40 »
Hi all~

My OFP 1.96 version is laggy.  Do you think it's just because of my system.  IntelP4 Processor. 2gb ram, 18gb hard drive, basic graphics card.

I tried to lower some of the seting in preferences, but it seemed to not work. Basically Whatever I do on OFP now there is LAG.

It delays a lot in the action I performed into sometime later. It's random, but the game is mostly unplayable for me.

Well, OFP lags like shit on actual systems.... i can't believe it too... having a Q6600 @3.4GHZ here with 4GB 1066DDR2 Ram, 8800GT Graphics @Vista X64 and it Lags like hell....

No-one knows the cause, BIS don't even support OFP anymore, right?

OFP works wonderfully well for me on an AMD Athlon 64 4000+ single core, with 2GB and an NVidea 8800GTX.

Works both on Windows XP Professional 64 bit and Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit Beta, I have no experience of Windows Vista.

BI still have their troubleshooting and other boards for OFP on their forums.

Should i just open and clean like 15 at a time because otherwise you have to pay for it. Keep on re-opening and closing it to do that? Did you pay for it?

Thanks for the advice.

ok heres the thing just by looking at your posts and reading up some reviews if you have a intel chipset for your processor it will lag no doubt about it

Amd on the other hand will not

i dont know if you also have to have either a nvidia or ati but that might also be the case

just thought id let you all know

i may be wrong btw so keep that im mind but many people with intel chipsets have problums some dont but the majority do

yeah your right, I probably should just upgrade to nvidia..they are pretty well rounded graphics cards.

:D I wonder what kind would support my computer, intelP 4 proc.  2gb RAM.  opticalex gx260 dell pc.

Keep in mind, my power supply, my power supply can only handle correct display adapters, if it's too much for my power supply it will be worthless buying.

It all depends on your motherboard. Is it AGP or PCI-Express? PCI-Express x16?

It's a 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics contoller and it's a PCI slot most likely I'm about 95% sure.  :D

sounds like its integrated ?!?!?!? I would upgrade that first ;) i really think it would make a world of difference.
you could even try ebay. nvidia. just make sure you get the slot right. I would just take it to a pc shop and ask them what graph card would fit. they would be happy to help. and the older cards are pretty cheap, but you would be ripping though OFP missions
