Porting an OFP mission to ArmA
« on: 05 May 2007, 03:06:18 »
It should be possible, right? But I'm wondering, since it's gonna take some tweaking in the mission.sqm file, are there any referances for which classes, etc, Arma uses?
I am actually flying into a star... this is incredible!

If you mean cfgVehicle classes, then consult the comref here.

All vehicle classes: Air, Land, Water, Man and others are listed there in a tree structure.

May I add that I tried this, and there is a small problem you will encounter.

The larger island isn't as big as you think it is. To make this island seem big, BI scaled all the units to a different size. All soldiers, vehicles and buildings. Your map will have a similar template, but a lot of buildings might overlap, or be to short and leave gaps.

I ended up just opening up OFP and then opening up ArmA and making a similar template of the map from scratch, then using OFP I visually fixed everything until it was right. Took a while though.

Good luck :P

The island seems big because it is big, the map landgrid is not 50m like OFP this is probably why you see a difference.

On Sahrani the map landgrid is 40m.
