Sorry real Noob question and I have done a search without luck.

Compared to OFP my editor seems empty,

Where are all the houses etc in the Arma editor?

Have I missed a download somewhere?

There's the g85 editor addon (attached) that adds most of the "hidden" objects, suggest you grab that. Sickboy over in the official forums had some kind of work-around that allowed most of the hidden objects as well without an addon, but I think it involved a lot of...doing stuff. ^^
