Wind Direction
« on: 19 Oct 2002, 07:37:46 »
Hi,

I am doing a cutscene and is starts off with a close up camera shot of a flag, waving on a flagpole.  The problem is that the wind must be blowing a the camera because the flag is waving at the camera.  I need it to wave in the direction that you can see the whole flag.

Where can you set the wind direction.  I assume its in the mission.sqm file but not sure.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great!!!!

Thanks

Robert

To my knowledge, you can't set the wind direction... I believe some bright spark found a script work around to determine it though. I'll have a poke around my OFP drive and see if I can dig it up for you

Once you know the wind direction you can setdir the flag so it blows in the wind correctly (don't ask me why that should work, but it does)

Hmm...have you tried simply changing the azimut of the flag pole as you place it on the map in the editor?

May sound daft, but try it and see what happens.
