'Lost' addons
« on: 21 Jun 2005, 10:34:37 »
After just installing Resitance 1.96, I'm having trouble finding a sound addon I really liked, called Satchel's Dynamic Sound pack.

I got a v1.75 from Fileplanet, but it corrupts the game and lots of stuff stops working. I can't find another working download link in Google - just getting lots of 'Page no longer exists' errors.

Can anyone help please..?

Thanks, but been to both of those. The download screws my RES 1.96 - normal weapons go missing, and it says some weapons are missing when it starts up.

Must have some other addon stuff dirtying up the included config.bin file..?  :(

Well, i think that the config.bin is usually formatted differently in every version, so when applying this mod on different versions, it most likely won't work. If you really want to use the sound pack, then I suggest downgrading OFP Res. to one of the compatible versions, else, the mod won't work correctly.

PS: I don't remember seeing one of these packs for 1.96

Hmmm... The one I had for 1.46 had a couple of text config files, and I'm sure one was for 1.96

I lost it when I uninstalled 1.46 to put 1.96 on - stupid folder delete :(

Edit: Just checked it again - says it's for 1.90 - was there a 1.90 upgrade..?

You can also download ECP with Dynamic Range Sound pack.
You can't use DR's config file alone, because it needs some stuff from ECP.
Hope it helps in some way.

I got it working at last. Installed the DynamicRange.pbo to Res/Addons, backed up my Res/Bin/config.bin then copied the new config.bin over it. All works fine now.

This is a stunning addition to OFP - it makes everything seem SO much more realistic. Guns crack properly and echo off the hills, and helos sound amazing. An addon I'd recommend to everyone.
