The US Marines bought all the US Army's surplus tank versions, (something to do with seperate budgets), a shed load of barrels, butts and trigger groups and replaced all their M60's. The US Army would have done the same but couldn't afford it.

Is this the U.S. designated M240 that is replacing the M60 in Marine Corps and Army Ranger units?

O.K.  I did a search and it is indeed the U.S. designated M240 made by Fabrique Nationale (the Belgians).  OTW did a version of this, but yours blows it away in detail.  Looking forward to seeing this soon!

This is not a U.S. designated M240, it is a L7A2 GPMG it is of the FAL family made by belgium, it has been used by the BRITISH ARMED FORCES, The GPMG of the Brit forces, currently semi replaced by the LSW/Minimi (for the SAS) it still holds a place in the machinegun role where fire power is needed. Capabale of pouring immense volumes of fire power on any enemy, it can be very usefull in the right position. Just be carefull you dont overheat it with sustained fire.

i think he may of got confused because of the ammo box we have had to attach to the gpmg, as youk now the gpmg is belt fed, but as ofp dont support this, weve had to improvise

What about the HK pack MG3 with the belt. Would it be possible to have the cases ejecting from the opposite to the belt, unlike the MG3 with the dual belt feed wierd thing.

THe gimpy is similar to the m240 made by the belgium, but the gimpy was made by the british, i got a book out of the library to get different views for the gimpy, and in the book they had the gimpy under the british section in the book, and its counter part under belgium section of the book.

I hope this sorts out the likness to the m240
