Ahhh damn angles

I need to make a symple box in the ground under the water line for my bridge pieces but i keep getting this good awfull sloped edges so when i put in my bridge it done go straight (horizontal) :( How do i make a symple box in the ground with now sloped edges

 Please help ripping my hair out here
