OFPEC and BIS work 2gether for OFP2?
« on: 18 Feb 2004, 18:48:48 »
Hay, this might be the wrong board to ask this, but didn't founs any that would suit better.

Anyhow, are there any active contacts between OFPEC and BIS? I mean, since OFP came out, so many scripts where made which are more than just for fun (i.e. AI enhancement scripts).

I wonder if BIS sometimes stops here and look what could be worth to implement into OFP2.

BIS saw OFPEC's TAG system and took that in (with permission, I assume), I think. I'm not sure about anything else though.

BIS did indeed spot our tag system and adopted it, which is why they are now called OFP tags (rather than OFPEC tags).   They didn't so much have permission as enthusiastic cooperation.

There is a OFP2 suggestion board over at the official forums @

thx macguba,

i'll step in there and suggest they should take a closer look on ofpec.com and think about to adapt some of the excellent scripts (only with permission, of course). ;D

Heya myke13021,

Just to clarify: OFPEC is just the repository for the scripts and such.
We just host the items, we don't make them.

So if BIS were to incorporate the scripts directly into OFP2, they would be contacting the script maker, not OFPEC. :)

@Noon416

ya, thats absolutely clear, but i thought as the most genious OFP scripters are stepped together on OFPEC, it would be worth for BIS to step in, look the scripts, and contact the respective Scripter.

So ofpec would function as some kind of "Idea pool for OFP2"  ;D

As some of the scripts in here fixes some...uhm...don't want to use the word bugs....let's say, improvable issues, i thought it would be a good idea.
I'm just thinking of the "Enhanced AI" scripts from...uhm...vectorbosson it was when i'm right.

Your idea is a good one, myke, don't get me wrong. :)

I was just clarifying that BIS wouldbn't need to be working with OFPEC to take advantage of the script ideas, they would just download them like everyone else. ;)

And they might not even contact the script maker before using it.

And to be absolutely clear, BIS do have full permission and support from OFPEC to use the tag system.
