I've been trying to create a new island that i'm willing to put a huge amount of time and effort into. I've downloaded Wrpedit, the manual and the tutorial by Planck. The intro states:
"Using DEM data, preferably 30 metre DEMs resampled to 50 metre DEMs. This agrees with the 50m cell sizes in WrpEdit."
This is suggested rather than building the island from scratch in Wrpedit. Before I download the DEM tutorial, i'd like to find out what a DEM actually is! Everyone here has been extremely helpful so far, hopefully armed with your great knowledge I can pay you back with a great map!
