Music in Missions
« on: 30 Oct 2003, 22:40:37 »
Okay, I've concerted my Mp3 song into Ogg and have it placed in the folder "Music" in my "username\missions\TEST" folder. The mission is named test until I can figure out how to work this.

I've created a description.ext and in it I've typed

class CfgMusic
{
tracks[]={Space Between};

class Space Between
{
name = "Space Between";
sound[] = {codemasters\operation flashpoint\users\Javier Galindo\missions\test\music\Space Between.ogg, db+10, 1.0};
};
};

I also have a description.ext inside the Music folder (the same thing is in the Test folder since I'm not entirely sure where description.ext should go). I have a stringtable.CSV text file in the test folder, but am not clear on what I want to do with it. All I need is to include some music into my mission.

However whenever I open up Test in the mission editor and go to the Effects area of the trigger the song isn't listed. What am I missing?

it will never be listed in the dropdown list in the effects dialog (i think), in an On activation field type
Code: [Select]
playmusic "Space Between"

and you also need to put the description.ext file where your mission.sqm file is :P

Heh, well my description.ext is in the same folder as mission.sqs as well. It's in both.

Anyway, now that I know I'm not supposed to see it in the music tracks list I'm trying to, as you say, activate it through triggers. However I keep getting the message "Music Space Between Not Found".

Is the code written in the first post of this thread correct and placed in the right spot (description.ext)? my guess is there's something wrong with it since otherwise I don't see any other reason why it wouldn't be working.
