Switching units

Is it possible (in a SP mission) to change the unit the player is to a different unit? Say I place a civie (who is the player) and a western soldier who I want to be, can I use a command/script to change my unit to the western soldier?

eg:- ap switchunit "man"

ap being the player and man being the soldier I want to change to. I need this to work for my mission.

The short answer is no to your question.  However, if it's the beginning of the mission or if you're willing to split missions into a campaign... it's "sort of" possible.

good luck
