Helo Campaign
« on: 31 Jul 2003, 06:49:08 »
Hi everyone

how r we all?

im just curios but has ne one made a pilot campaign?
cause i think it would be cool to be a front line pilot u know.
ferrying troops into the middle of a combat situation would be cool but i dont really have the skills to do complex missions and scripting.

but i can supply ideas and stuff.

Thanks

Tim

I actually started a campaign like this, but it gets boring making missions where you go pick up/unload troops & then fly away.  I think a better way to do this is make a mission pack with transport missions, attack missions, stealth insertion missions, etc.

PS:  My HD crashed about a month ago, so I can't send you what I had done.  Sorry :(

you could vary the mission roles for each mission from
PILOT
GUNNER
ir EVAC SOLDIER

where evac soldier is basically a guy who's in the helo before it lands to pick troops up, and gives cover fire for the boarding soldiers

thats a really good idea KJAM

if i encorporated that into the missions then we could make a very multi roled campaign based around the air war.

maybe i could tie the 160th SOAR in to it somehow

would ne one be interested in forming a mission development team with me 2 produce this campaign?

if so please email me at Timpink0@msn.com

Thanx

that would be CSAR - Combat Search And Rescue - Where choppers are sent into hostile areas to pick up wounded - Generally Pavehawks from the USAF (Mike Beil is a CSAR pilot) or Blackhawks from SOAR. The guy in the chopper is indeed an armed geezer who basically jumps out... covers the LZ while the injured are aided aboard by the co-pilot

ah i didnt know that lol,
but i thought of it mainly because.......when your getting in a helo your vulnerable, also watchin starhip troopers :D when they get picked up and X(z)ander covers them whiile they get in the ship

and timothy, you could also base it around non military helo's too, like an addon i got, a coastguard helo, that could be cool

and then,  also a behind enmy lines type mission where you and your co pilot are stick behind enemy lines and have to escape, then there is the classic "nick the enemy copter"

You could also go with scout missions using BASs little birds.
