Use Amalfi's PBO decrypter instead, you can get it from the Editors Depot.

For repacking use StuffPBO, however I don't know if it is available in the Editors Depot or not.......go look  ::)

What I meant was:

Use Amalfi's PBO Decrypter to unpack the mission PBO's.

Do the editing you want to do

Pack it all back into a PBO with StuffPBO.

Hi,

No ones really posted about this for a week or so, but im still having problems.
At first i wasnt sure where to put it, but im pretty sure ive got it right now, i made a simple mission to test this on called "test".

So i made the document, i put

respawn=2;
respawndelay=20;

inside it, then i went to "save as",
I called it "description.ext"
i set the type as "All Files"
and the coding was already on "ANSI"

so i assume it wasnt a .txt file.
I put this document in:
"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\Users\Richard\missions\test.noe"

In this scenario i just have 2 men set as "Playable" and i just go into it in multiplayer having exported it without changing the name. and i just blew myself up, then it fades out and starts to spin round and i turn into the damn seagul  >:(. Im not sure what is wrong because i have read all the other posts and people still seem to be having the same problem as i have. However i did notice one thing when i went to change the respawndelay to see if that would work, when i re-saved it with the same settings, same name, all files, ANSI  it said there was already a "description.ext.txt" file there, even though i thought i had made it just an .ext file, i was wondering if this is just a thing that always comes up or might this be something to do with it, its making a txt file for some reason.

Any help will be appriciated, because i know you guyz have a lot of posts to answer as a lot of other people are having the same problem.

Thx.

Using Notepad.........

If you call the file description.ext and have the file type set to 'All Files (*.*)' it should save it as description.ext.

What program did you use to make your file.

Try the one I posted below.   ;D
Just unzip it.

Did you save your mission as a MP mission or just a SP mission from the editor?

If it is a MP mission, are you playing via MP and not in the editor?

Respawning doesn't work in the Editor.....I think

EDIT:  Just ignore me........you wouldn't get a seagull otherwise   ::)   ::)

De-pbo your MP mission and check that your description.ext file is actually in there.

De-Pbo, do you mean take out all my custom made missions  in

"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\Users\Richard\missions"

NO

I mean, when you exported your mission to MP, it was made into a PBO file.

De-pbo this file and you will get a folder which will contain your mission.sqm and (hopefully) your description.ext.

You do have a De-pbo utility don't you?

Well, if i go into MPMissions i do see it as a PBO file, but i go into the Users/Richard/missions/test and it is already in a .sqm file and i can see the ext , thats where i put the file in the first place.

The one you see in your:

"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\Users\Richard\missions\test.noe"

Is the Editor copy, this is not the copy you will be playing if you are playing from the MP Interface.

The copy which is made into a PBO in your MP folder is the one you exported and it might not contain the description.ext file.

If you get a De-pbo utility you can unpack the pbo in the MP folder to check if it actually contains the file.

Or maybe just re-export you mission under a different name.

I just made a mission on Desert Island......me and another guy.

I saved the mission.

Alt-Tabbed out of the game, went and found the mission folder and put the description.ext in it.

Back into game, I make both guys playable and export to multiplayer.

I quit the editor and went to multiplayer and chose that mission to play........killed myself.....and 20 seconds later I respawned.

It works ok

If you like I can post the mission here for you to try?

I have a small problem. I have created a MP mission, but I want only one side to respawn. I can make both sides respawn, but that's not what I want. I tried only putting a respawn marker for one team, but then the other team (that I don't want to respawn) respawns there too. How is it done, if it is done at all?
