Help with the "hands behind head" command
« on: 04 Jan 2003, 21:51:48 »
Hi! I have never used the "hands behind head" command, but IÂ've seen that the forum haves a lot of old topics with that command, so I checked every topics name to page 13, and I found 2 or 3 different commands on the way.

None of them worked.

Now, I donÂ't know what to do, IÂ've checked all scripts and turtorials but no luck. Anyone who knows a working command? Plz help.

Thx in advance.

Are you sure your man is in SAFE or CARELESS mode first?

This one works for me:

unitname switchmove "FXStandSurUniv"

The only problem is that you can't kill the unit. Or, you CAN kill the unit, he just doesn't fall to the ground.

Right, how are you giving the unit the command?

Try doing it in a script.

SurrenderScript.sqs

and just put:

unitName switchMove "FXStandSurUniv"

in there.

Save and execute with [] exec "SurrenderScript.sqs"
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'WOW What a Ride!'"

*runs down to local betting office*

Me : "£1000 that he has put the code into the init field"

Bookie : "Don't be silly. Surely if he's searched he'd have seen not to do that. It's been said before."

Me : "Well, must've not searched for the right thing. What are the odds?"

My luck! IÂ've forgotten Â'bout the search! :'(

And, I have tried both the init field and the on act field, but it doesnÂ't seem to work, IÂ'm gonna try it again, there has perhaps been a writing error or somethin.

Wish me luck and keep your lucky toe in you mouth (or somethin, I dunno).

Never used scripts, are you just gonna put da Unitname blablabla in notepad and save da file somewhere(I am starting to talk like LCD, geeez, help me someone  ;))?

Right, idiot's guide to scripts.

Open notepad.

Write code (unitName switchMove "FXStandSurUniv" in this case)

Open Save As menu, select "All files *.*"

Save as SurrenderScript.sqs

Be sure to place this in the mission folder (operationflashpoint\users\USERNAME\missions\MISSIONNAME\)

Execute it by writing

[] exec "SurrenderScript.sqs" in the init-field of a unit. Or in a trigger.
"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'WOW What a Ride!'"

:o Try putting a WP in front of a d00d, m8, and put this in the 'on activ.' field :

     RemoveAllWeapons This; This switchMove "FXStandSurUniv"

Then slide the WP upon the moron and preview the mission.  :-*

GOOD LUCK, ARMSTRONG!  8)  :)
