UPdated CATUSMC
« on: 18 Nov 2002, 14:04:07 »
hey guyz.  Awwmm I know you guyz alrdy saw my previous marines which were,, well, I guess ok, but not really perfect and interesting.. so I'm bringing back my marines with a little more realism.  I'm already finish with these guyz and I could send it to the depot anytime but my internet connection prevents me to... I might be able to if I could send my files little by little, like few models first, few textures next and so on.  Here are some pictures.

I added some realism to these guyz by adding them a RACK system, and also by adding them a guillie net on their helmets and hat.  I notice by watchin a lot of history and discovery channel and magazines.  "NON" of the marines I saw wore their helmets "Plane" with nothing on it... they always had some kind of camoflauge on their helmets.

pic3.  This is it for today.  I do have a unit with a backpack and goggles but the marines I saw never really carried backpacks during combat.  The goggle,,, well, they do put them on but I rather put it on in urban conflicts... Well, I guess I should add it to those desert units huh? I'm making the marines with the original camo as well as the 3 color desert version.  I made one before but it was soo crappy I just had to trash it.

Very nice whit the camo on the helmets and the eqvipment.
but do they have to be in that MPAT or what it is called camoflage. woodland is much better looking. and if thyey have to yuse MPAT make it smaller on the arm's if you know what I mean. And give them MOLLE or LBV-88 on.

They look great, though MARPAT is the most realistic camo. I have but one simple request, since you are doing Marines, could you please include a new ghillie-suited Sniper/Scout pair, fully updated to 1.75? The originals look like crud, and the two previous ghillie sniper addon models, though beautiful, were never fully finished or updated.

Since when did the Marines use the RACK?

They generally wear MOLLE II FLC over Interceptor vests (this is issued), or depending on the unit (Force Recon?) and AOP (MOUT?), FSBE II (Full Spectrum Battle Equipment) or Paraclete RAV's (Releasable Assault Vest -- the father of the much inferior FSBE). I know Force Recon units have been known--in the past--to wear SOE vests.

Not that I'm disagreeing with you here, as I'm sure it's possible there are units and/or individuals who have requested and allowed to wear their own privately purchased gear, but...

CAT_SHIT_ONE_MM can't you make them a littel more color ritch I have a picture where the MARPAT looks cool beeing a littel more yello and green.

I'm remaking the MARPAT pattern since I had many request to remake it.  Constructive criticize really helps so I take it really seriously.  ETA awwmm,, I guess as soon as I finish the new pattern, test it, and burn it to the CD and take it to my friends house who has the fast Cable connection then send it to the CZ site and then time for the chezh guyz to see it so... I guess in 2 weeks or 3 at the "MOST"?  I did release an earlier version already and it is in the chezh site under the units addon.  It is called CATUSMC.  That was when I didn't have oxygen so the quality is a bit low but I believe it is still alright since many people likes it still.  I sent it like 4,5 month ago.

Hi guyz.  Here's a update.  I remade the MARPAT Woodland Pattern. Tell me if you guyz like it.  I hope you guyz do because it did take me some time,,,, I'm finish with the blood textures to.  Depending on what you guyz say, I'm also going to remake the desert MARPAT to.

I know the color looks kind of,,,, "DIRTY" and not really "AMERICAN" but this thing really does work.  I do have one in fact (sad that I don't have a Digital camera) and it does feature more "Brown" color.

Like in real life, the BDU tries to blend its self to the environment as long as the environment has any of the basic colors of the BDU (green, black, brown, or greish khaki (wierd color))

first pic.... marine undercover in Afghanistan,,,  the picture quality is quite low since the 50KB file size limitation...

yes, agfghanistan isnt all barren desert like we all think. news coverage has only shown us the places that just got flattened by our artillery barrages 8)
there is actually some remotely eye pleasing areas in afghanistan. we just dont see it.

Hey guyz.  I'm finally finish with the Marines, I burned it on the CD and was going to drive down to my "UNCLE'S" house this weekend but my freaking van's break failed and it is too dangerous to drive that thing around..... so, I asked my mom if she could drive me down there but currently she's not sure of her schedule so it all depends on my mom.

Dang, I don't know if I'll make it to the Naval Academy,,, it seems like my friend (who also applied to the naval academy) has a higher score in the SAT, and his class works, he has a 680 verbal and 770 math, -A grade where 80 is a passing and below 80 is all failure grade... I only have a 600 verbal and 740 math, -A but not really good, I should do more extra carriculum activities,, OFP,,, awmm,, OFP addon making,, 3D modelling,,,, wait a minute those ain't extra curriculum activities,,, I'm a local boonie stomp junior leader (which my friend is also), volunteer works on the japanese school,,,,, shucks,, just if my dad would allow me to joing the JROTC or Sea Cadet... that D**k Head,,, he really crushed many my opportunities... even applying to the Naval Academy was in secret,  working with my school,, what kind of father is he anyways?

If there is a father in this forum,,, dang,,, you should make your son do what he "REALLY" wants to do or else you will never see your son again...

sorry off topic, but don't lock this topic please.  I won't do it again.  I was just stressed with my school works and future (I made my mind what I wanted to do but my mom told me that she was going to suiccide if I enlisted in the marines.... was that a threat?)

All I can say is that you'll never go anywhere in life if all you'll do is what other people--no matter who they are or how well meaning they are--tell you how you should be living YOUR life.

They aren't you.

sorry, next week for "SURE" this week, I forgot that it was thanksgiving and our schedules were just packed... Awefully sorry.

Just to show my appology, I'll also send my beta afghan map which is around 30MB,,, textures, textures, textures,,, why does it have to be so big.... I'm only using 512 x512 textures so maybe that's why. There is also 409 files in the map, out of it, 358 are textures (still to be added) and 50 or so are new model of crop field, dense grass addon, craters, buildings, and all those stuffs.

Few pictures of my models. will be attached.

hey guyz, I've posteda  new topic with new building model, crater model, and also a crop field model.

Yes, I know the Marins use the MOLLE system but I also saw an MFR guy or a MEU guy wearing an equipment that I think was a RACK (Ranger Assault Carrying Kit.)  It does say Ranger but other special force uses this equipment (mostly in the army.)

Go to google.com and then search for "marine RACK photo" I think that was what I searched for.  I'm sleepy good night. 3AM over here in GUAM.

Heh, I didn't know you were on Guam...
I lived there as a lad, when my father was stationed at Anderson AFB. My grandfather, ( Dad's dad ) was among the first GI's to land on Guam during the liberation. He claimed his first enemy KIA there.
Some of my fondest memories are from that warm, beautiful little paradise... As my wife is actve duty Air Force, we are thinking of requesting Guam as a duty station one day.

hey ferret fang.  That's an interesting thing to hear.  Yeah, visit Guam in the future bring your sons and or daughters. I'll be happy to welcome you guyz....... aww, crap, I forgot that I'm a senior.  My parents are gonna kick me out of the house.  Darn.  LOL but I don't know about my dad.  I hope he'll kick me out.  I'm a island boy, born in seattle, raised in Guam.  Be sure not to be guided by all the tourist agencies... they won't really take you to the true beauties of Guam.  Go to a thing called boonie stomp hiking.  The leader of the hike is a former Navy Seals and now a professor at the University of Guam teaching Archeology (I belive) or Marine biology and he know a lot about Guam.  Now, the hikes, you don't follow a trail, they'll just brake into a heavy sword grass or a bush then start the hike.  Some are rated very very difficult and even I think those are tough (despite running atleast 8 miles a day with my backpack on (the former Seal guy is just breathing gently and "WALKING" fast while me and the others  are running and breathing hard, sometimes vomitting and getting a muscle cramp to catch up on him (well that guy is the leader for those who could follow him, there are usually 3 more different leaders for those who can't take it.)

Sorry oftopic, but I just get excited when people knows and talks about this small island and when especially they are thinking of visiting this place.

Well, I wouldn't actually be a tourist, as I still remember the island fairly well. And we'd most likely be stationed there for two or four years. I've thought about retiring there, but it's
1) Much too far from my ancestral home in Appalachia.
2) Much too earthquake prone for my comfort level.
3) Much too prone to be blown away by the next super-typhoon.
4) Much too prone to be swamped in a tsunami/tidal wave.
5) Much to likely to be vaporized by PRC nuclear weapons should a shooting war break out between the US and China.

Did I leave anything out?

So sorry guyz.   Oh ya, I made my self a gullie suit since I did my

Hey there guyz.  It's me CAT.  The power came back on.  But the typhoon really did a devastating effect on my CPU............ my hard drive is starting to fail.   Well, it is a IBM Hard Drive my dad purchased 6 years ago and it only has 20GB so I guess it is just time to buy a new western digital 80GB HHD with 2 8MB cache.  Well,  I'm gonna ask my uncle if he could order it for me.  So my CPU might go off anytime

My marines are ready, complete with my modified weapons but my 56K plus my failing 6 years old IBM hard drive,,, awwmmm, I don't know,,, it may go off anytime and the Marines weight 7MB and it literally takes 6 hours to send just 7MB of files.

Sorry,,, sorry.  Maybe when the traffic lights goes on and it is safe to drive, I'll take the CD with my marines and send it from my uncles DSL.

Sorry for making you guyz wait but the situation is situation right now in Guam.............  But I didn't think my hard drive would fail when I started the CPU the day I came back.
