You can ask how to make sci-fi addons, but that's it. OFPEC is primarily devoted to realism, and science fiction is not realism.

If aliens land tomorrow in dropships, then I think it will be allowed for you to discuss modelling their ships.

Provided we are all still around that is.

blazer01,

Here's a couple of examples to help clarify the position...

Editing Queries are things like "How do I get my addon to do this?" or "How do I make this texture go here?", etc etc

Discussion is "Large Type 2 phaser arrays are kick-ass" .... "Bugger off you loser, small Type 10 arrays = Teh 0wn@ge!! and they're more efficient" .... "Where are you reading, b*tch?! A type 2 uses 10GigaFoobles per unit, and a 10 uses 17MegaGootles!!" ... etc etc

There are two main reasons we don't allow Sci-Fi discussion.
1. They are very prone to flamebaiting, and;
2. We only allow real-world addons discussion because there is solid real-world data, physical proof, etc. Sci-Fi, while well-documented, is still left open to interpretation and subjective viewpoints. Which leads back to point 1.

Sorry blazer01, but this is how its been for years and we have no reason to abandon a rule bought about by our experiences here at OFPEC.
If you wish to discuss Sci-Fi, we normally recommend you visit the OpSciFi team, but it appears they're in a state of turmoil at the moment.

Feel free to IM me if you don't think this reply is enough.

*Locked* (as we've discussed this topic many many times, and we don't need another thread about it)
