I don't think any updated grunt addons exist, but we need some.

Kit 'em up with the new Interceptor vests and the new-style helmets and give 'em souped-up M-4s, then add the customizable shoulder patch option - all your modern US Army needs would be solved.

Well The BAS ranger looks much like the Modern US infantry so if you give them other shoulder paches then U could whit out big problems say that they where modern US infantry.

Note that the vest and equipment are very different....the BAS Rangers are using harnesses, web belts, and buttpacks while modern grunts are using Interceptors with all their gear attached directly to the vest.  He has no gloves, has his pants unbloused, no pistol or kneepads, so forth and so on.

The Ranger looks like.......well, he looks like a Ranger ;D

BAS made Rangers and did a fine job of it but I personally would like to see plain old grunts with accurate gear.  It would be great if somebody made a simple "Modern US Army" pack with woodland and desert 3-color, because I'm sick of BIS infantry and I don't want to make all my loons Rangers.

So Deadmeat, I'm not criticizing you guys at all (read yer thread at the official forums ), I'm just saying that I don't like using Rangers as regular troops.

[ when i use the BAS rangers in a mission i give then the "Marine assualt pack weapons" for them look better ]

Hang on a sec...haven't any of you seen the soldiers used in ECP? They're pretty good, and modern.

Ever heard of the Marine Assaut Pack By suchey&earl??

It's a great pack with "grunt" marines and specops aswel. Sure, they're marines and not the army, but when a war is fought on an island like on all OFP maps, it's most likely gonna be marines in RL.

fragsta, ECP uses the default units, unless your using the INQ mod with it, then you get BAS soldiers with INQ's weapons.

You mean BIS, right? And yes, I am using the INQ mod, but that's part of ECP, kinda. Those soldiers are amazing.

Ah, good point.  I was thinking of when you place INQ's people in from the editor.  I thought they were the same as BIS's units.

Well there are the BIS soldiers with INQ weapons, the weapons are great, and the soldiers not bad, but there should be a new version of BIS's soldiers...or it could be in the next version of ECP. That would be fantastic.
