If you selected to view the intro, you get a short intro, which fits MP well. Trees falling and the volcano is roaring. At the end, you get hit by a rock. Ok, the camera is hit by it, which I think is rather cool.
Since the volcano just erupted, it destroyed all long range communications leaving you stranded. Your original mission was to take out a Russian roadblock. Now, you just have one objective, check out Vladis on your way to home base. This wont be the only objective in this mission though, but I wont give out anything else.
You start off beside a rock. You're only about 50m from your original mission objective, the Russian roadblock. As you might expect, it's pretty much dead. I advice you to take some ammo. You will definitely need it. You head on to Vladis to discover the horrible truth. No one is alive, or they are kind off. Details will be kept as a secret. Find it out yourself. All I will say is that you will be forced to fight for your life for the rest of the mission. Don't expect an easy way out. Everyone around you is dangerous. Even your old friends.
You thought you'd get away that easily, huh? There's no happy endings in life. Short, to the point, atmospheric.
The ash rain is a very nice touch. Makes the eruption of the volcano more real, don't expect any Pompeii stuff here though. New enemies, without any new addons. Scripts work great, no errors. Watch and learn mission makers.
Not a new aspect to Flashpoint, it has been done. Though, this has to be the first which succeeds on it rather well without addons at least. You won't find any conspiracy theories here, you just fight for your life in foggy ash rain. Maybe it's the ash I hear you say? Maybe be, I don't know. It leaves a good open space for a sequel. A change to those regular hardcore GI's. Want to experience something new? This is the one for you then.
