Review by The Phantom ReviewerOverviewGood picture, nice border. Simple use of text. Shame about the author info there but aside from that it was fine. IntroI think the author's sound settings are not default as the volume for the audio files was low. Make a note of setting all volume controls to max when you're making cutscenes so that sort of thing doesn't happen. The author hasn't here. There was voice acting pulled straight from the BIS files and although it was with lip files, the fractured use of almost random snippets showed. Nice thought but it could have been done better. The cameras were almost seamless. I got a quick flash of the player unit at the very start which is poor. BriefingThis was your standard BIS style briefing with very little information and a diary entry in the notes section. All fine. There was a weapon selection which is always nice. MissionI have to say this isn't the best defend mission I've played. First off, to be pedantic, I'm not actually defending a port. It's just some buildings high up on a beach. Anyway. The mission was very simple in it's idea but one or two things let it down. The author said that he had problems with units running back to the boats. We here at ofpec could have instructed him on how to solve this problem with the allowfleeing command. A little more legwork in the forums from the author would have been beneficial. Most grating was the hunt the last guy problem at the end. It took me longer to find him than it did to complete the bulk of the mission. OverallWay too short and easy in a nutshell. There are many ways to sex up a mission but the author hasn't used any. As a first submitted mission it's way better than most, however, it does still need a lot of work before anyone will want to keep it on their hard drive. |

Defending units weren't distributed correctly, most of them died.
