Summary

You are private Tom Addams - just a soldier, number 8 in your squad. Today the decisive attack on Soviet positions in northern Everon is going to begin. Will you be able to survive?

Review by Captain Winters

Overview

This mission starts off with a hell of a nice overview, with a nice little picture. Explains the mission, not much more, hence ya know... Overviews are only supposed to give a brief overview of the level... ;o)

Intro

The Intro is fabulous! A nice 'briefing intro' that plays out with the map-on-screen system. Nicely done with the markers and all, and the included scripting.

Briefing

The Briefing is unbelieveable. You will never see one as detailed in all your OFP-editing days. There is simply no way anyone can top this 18kb briefing! It gives all the required info, but then goes on and gives an in-depth synopsis of each vehicle in the level...with two pictures each. This is, by far, astounding. Great work!

Mission

The mission is... LAG!! Only for the first few moments on the beach, but once you move to the hospital it becomes more acceptable. There are really only three or four things you do in this level, which include:

  1. Assault a Beach.

  2. Capture a Hospital.

  3. Destroy some incoming Armour (gets kinda hard!)

  4. Capture an Airbase.

I don't have to tell you it isn't the most original level out there, but it has something many mission designers are missing these days- fun. Somehow, through all the ruckus, you'll find yourself having a blast with your G36a and those damned Russians!

Overall

(Review Date: July 2003) This brings back fine memories of a day gone by... Fine memories of a BIS campaign, one which will never fade away! I have to say I find myself quite surprised! As I picked up this mission I thought, "Oh boy, a ripped BIS mission...". Was I wrong? I have to say 'Nice Job' to Girts!

Overall this is a nice piece of work, which would have gotten a way better score if there weren't so many damn markers and clutter on the map! But if you're looking for some fun, this mission is it. :o)

Tanks! 8)
