The text is definitive of the primary objective but does not provide specifics on the players' role. The image is also slightly loose when identifying details.
Well done with thoughtful camera angles, animations, custom music and sound. A text narrative sets things in motion and the cinema does well in setting up the coming mission.
The briefing outlines your primary objective at the start and then proceeds to fill in details that will help you be successful along the way. The links function properly and markers show the route that has been planned to prevent mix-ups. The notes section brings immersion to the mission by providing some background on current events and explaining things in detail. Nicely done.
The author has done a good job of creating a living environment along the route. From folks dancing in the streets to nonstop traffic impeding the convoy's progress at times, the road becomes a nightmare for security and thus your AI gunners are invaluable to the cause. Your piloting skills will not be tested in this one as it focuses more on patience and discipline of hover, your gunners do the work but you have to point them in the right direction so that they can deliver the bad news to the enemy. At times, your evasion tactics may be tested but you must remember that you are not the primary concern in this operation and you will have to exercise discipline and control to protect your convoy. The destination city is alive with festivities and you will be rewarded visually for your efforts when you get close to it, so it pays to look across the landscape occasionally and enjoy the author's creativity.
There is an end cutscene (not an actual Outro) that maintains similar quality to the intro and more importantly finishes the story.
Defend the convoy type missions are too common among the masses but the author has provided a different approach which is refreshing. Immersion, visual effects and radio communication are also notable features of this one.
It's a complete package and playable by all types, not just flyboys. So you folks who fear the stick and peddles, it's worth the effort.
