Overview

The Overview is one page BIS-style. Very nice.

Intro

The mission features very nice video sequences. They are really telling a story. The only imperfect thing is the lack of lip movements and voice samples.

Briefing

The Briefing is good, your task is very clear and background information is also provided. The weapon selection is excellent and allows you to play the mission with a different focus (close combat vs. sniper action).

Mission

At the beginning of the mission you must arrest a local drug lord. Therefore you get one of his trucks and drive to his house. What follows is a fierce firefight with a lot of civilians armed with the whole range of automatic weapons.

After finding (not killing) and arresting the subject you can call a heli for extraction. There is a very nice heli script which makes it possible to use this "heli-taxi" with radio commands wherever you want to go. Back in the base you get the order to destroy the local drug camp of this group:

Another assault on a small village but it includes some real nice details like tripwires. After the destruction of the drugs you are requested to help solving a prison crisis with hostages involved. If you also solve this problem you get some rest (at least until the next mission of this series).

Overall

(Review Date: Aug 2003) From a technical point of view, this mission is excellent. Also the idea of playing as policemen (SWAT) instead of soldiers adds a very nice aspect to OFP. But, in my opinion, I was really surprised because I expected more fire discipline, more arrests, less violence, but your men act like a South American paramilitary group: "If he has a weapon he is a criminal, kill him. If he has no weapon he is a criminal who has forgotten his weapon, kill him also!"

Pros:
 - new setting.
 - bug free mission.
 - tense atmosphere.
 - good storytelling.

Cons:
- If you dislike needless violence, look for another mission.
