A nice short description, with a picture. No border unfortunately.
The Intro shows a downed chopper and some traffic on Kolgujev.
I didn't really like this briefing. There were no links to the markers, so I had to strafe the map to see what they said. The briefing has only one objective, find a downed chopper. There is a link to a long version; the long version is just one big 'blob' of text. The whole briefing looks a bit messy. I was able to select a weapon, like I should in a spec-ops mission.
You start off near the coast and make your way inland. Fortunately, it is in the middle of the night, so you are able to walk past most Russian guards on the island. This is for the better; there are so many guards you would run out of ammo in 5 minutes if you were to attack them all. Of course I do manage to run out of ammo, so I visit an old US base which is mentioned in the briefing. I engage a platoon of Russians here, on my own and manage to pick up some fresh ammo and a handy RPG launcher. While I'm picking up the ammo, a Russian convoy comes rolling in. I easily deal with them with my dear RPG.
So I head off to the crash site again, encountering many Russians, even stumbling across some BMPs. Too bad the author didn't include more tanks, that would have made the hide and seek game a lot more interesting. So back to our little voyage, I manage to find the wreck by using a nearby mountain as my viewing tower and go ahead and blow it up.
The radio now tells me I'm in trouble, because the Ruskies are sending in reinforcements, so I get my arse moving and take some crash survivors with me. They get killed on the way to the evac zone. The road to the evac zone is just more of the same, avoiding patrols and bases.
Now we're getting to a part that sucks; when I manage to reach the evac zone my ride refuses too come to me. It will only work after three tries!
It has an outro-win which shows my ride from the island.
The mission included some custom sounds.
(Review Date: Mar 2005) Overall a fairly good mission, it just has an editor driven feel to it, which is not bad, but in some situations better scripting may have been good.

This mission was created for OFP CWC v1.46, so expect to receive error messages when running Resistance v1.96. I recommend recompiling with Winter Nogojev v1.1 in place of Kegetys' earlier addons.
