Some of you may have been wondering wtf is going on with the constant site outages with Bandwidth Exceeded error message, and most recently the site being completely off-limits for guests.

The short answer is the cancer called AI.

There are probably millions of LLM training bots devouring everything all over the web, they are especially interested in violating forums and the way they "read" forums is exceptionally wasteful from server point of view. Basically equates to DDoS (and this is somehow legal...).

Some mitigations have been made but that doesn't mean the previously mentioned problems and/or the site being completely behind login won't return.

Currently guests can no longer access direct links to forum posts because those are what the bots love when they find them all over the web.
