The results are in!
OFPEC received 16 entries to the setPos Competition, and a good job was done by all! Of the 16 entries, there were 6 that achieved really high scores from our judges. All the bases were well thought out and it's pretty evident that a lot of time was spent on each and every one!
There are alot of great cut 'n paste structures ready to use in these submissions. OFPEC hopes that authors of these setPos bases may find parts of thier bases used in missions in the future - don't forget to credit the authors of the base if you use them!
1st place MAF (maf_setpostemplate)
2nd place michallll (Afterwar)
Tied for 3rd place
[seven]'s (Spanish Fortress )
Grinman's (GrinmansSetPosEntry)
You can find all entries in the Editors Depot over here.
Some notable comments about the entries... in no particular order:
"AfterWar & Prologue by michallll had an automatic gate that opened when you got close. The base has lots of useful configurations which would be good for adding to your own base."
"Bardosy's entries are ready to use bases! You could use bits and pieces to get your mission up and running quickly. Don't expect anything fancy, instead, he offers bases that can fit in almost every mission. Most of them are AI proof too
"[seven]'s entry had some interesting thought put in to his base. I'm guessing a major amount of time was needed to build that docking area. Interesting sea fortress. The AI has lots of trouble with this one but it could be an interesting base for MP
"Wolfrug's base was kind of fortified market setup taken from his mission. This base really tried to capture the markey atmosphere at night. Interesting setup, but will be hard to use in 'normal' missions."
"MAF template a Vietnam-like base which offers a realistic looking base with gravel roads. Lots of tents and gun emplacements."
"Grinman template: well constructed bunkers make several parts of the base interesting to use in cutscenes."
Many thanks to Idea Games for providing the game titles for this competition!
