"Finally after quite a long delay due to the problems with our previous hosts and the changeover to armedassault.info Obmar has been able to start releasing some of our add-ons to showcase our work. We will have a beta version of our Mini-Map teaser Island 'Cuito Cuanavale' early in February as Ebud still has quite a lot of work to do. In the meantime Obmar will be releasing quite a few add-ons which will form part of our Mini-Mod release in May. The next release will be the completely remade Alouette III add-on after that Obmar will be releasing some soldier units and our weapons pack. We will be uploading beta missions made by PETROVIC STUDIOS to test the add-ons within the next 2 weeks. Obmar has a bit of free time coming up so will be catching up on a lot of add-on making."
The long anticpated release of the Cold War Rearmed project has come to bear fruit today. The CWR Team released a demo version of the modification for Armed Assault. The demo from CWR includes the island Malden which was completely remade with ArmA quality vegitation and buildings. CWR also includes new West and East units and many other objects from Operation Flashpoint.
What a community!
When we shout "By the community, for the community" I doubt we ever think about a real, personal community. But OFPEC is a real community. When talking about a mission or a story, or bugs or mods, the members sometimes talk about personal things: what they feel, what they love or hate... what's happening with their families, or when the boss will fire them because of too much time on OFPEC... And sometimes the OFPEC members meet in Real Life!
Mathias and Bardosy met in person in Austria in this summer and took this picture for the community to understand what happens if you beta-test too much...
The story behind the meeting
When Mathias beta-tested my campaign, he found a language mistake. I used "beer factory" instead of "brewery" and he corrected my mistake. I responded that I'd believe anything a German said about beer. And he answered, actualy he's not a German, but an Austrian. So I told him, I bike in Austria every summer in a bikeroad named "Donauradweg". And he responded, he lives ON the "Donauradweg"...
Well, we arrived at a plan to meet, all from beta-testing. That is OFPEC!
Cheers!
Bardosy
