OFP code still works in Arma. Well, most of it anyways. So if you know an old way of doing what you want, chances are, you'll be able to duplicate it in the later titles.

How about trying the nearTargets command and then reveal it to the group of Spec Ops.

Might also want to have a look through the ED, Cheetah's GetRCoord function might be useful.
