ArmA: Error compiling vertex shader VSTerrain

I have got me a copy of ArmA and I installed it without any problems.
But when I try to run the game after the install it crashes and comes up with:

"Error compiling vertex shader VSTerrain"
You can then click OK and nothing more happens.
Anyone knows what to do?  ???

I believe you to fully patch arma up the latest versions. 1.16 is available here.
