is this a good idea?
« on: 05 Mar 2005, 18:28:00 »
I think that the Halo (CE) shotgun is really cool and i know it's not to unrealistic so i'm downloading the free trial of 3dmax 7 an i'm going to start transfuring it to night hopfully I'll get all of it done by next week (it's a long job) do you think it's a good idea?

Going by the fact the Halo mod is.. hybirnating (The long animal sleep thing I can't spell :P).. and won't be released for errh.. a while.. Good idea? Yeh! :)
Look for BRESSB's tutorials if you need help with selection names etc (My advice, get the scale correct first, then make the points for bullets)

If you want to make a really good shotgun, find LSQ (LSC? something along those lines) or someone's shotgun, that doesn't just use a 7 round burst, but camcreates the bullets when you fire. it also has custom ejected shells etc.. it's impressive.. Maybe you could use that script (With permission ;))..
Also depbo the BAS's models, or the Wanzers to get the config.cpp line to get rid of that middle aiming bit, and change the outer one to a more Halo-y one.. I could help with this to a degree, but my PC is getting repaird (Again! >:( ), and will have to work of the family's PC, but it's not too hard, really :)
Get my email or MSN address of my profile
Good luck no matter what you do with the shotgun! :)

Or you could look to me, I managed to edit his script to reduce some of the lag and MrZig helped me to reduce lag to a real minimum, I also increased the spread to Halo's standards (I was kinda going for the Halo shotgun or BFV Shotgun dispersion on it). It will be released with my JJR pack rework.

yes well I've found a big problem with my creation of it the textures I can't transfer them to the model (I can't find them at all)...
so I'd better ask for a partner in the Recrotment depot and I'll continue with transfering models...
(sorry seems such a small jop to go to the RD for this?)

from the look of the model you are going to have to remap all the textures on the shotgun :(

If you can get the file with textures into 3D Studio Max, or atleast a .3DS file with texture, you can import them with the texture mapped into O2.. But if you don't have the textures.. Oh.. If all else fails, screenshot the shotgun from various angles in Halo, and use them as a basis for the textures

I hope you realize there allready is a Halo mod and a much more experienced addon maker is working on it, hes allready got alot of the weapons done and the pelican all nicely done and scripted. Don't waste your time  ;) .

Don't do the pelican, start out simple with, say, the Warthog for your first vehicle. www.ofp.info/brsseb  is by far the greatest most helpful tut for all modelers.

the gun, the hull, wheels (seprate), seats...
