Evil vehicles
« on: 03 Aug 2004, 14:33:11 »
as we were playing the nogova virus missions the other night, (sadly only 3 of them...where's the rest?) someone came up with the idea of a "maximum overdrive" type mission would be waaay cool.  For those who don't know, Maximum Overdrive is a Stephen King story/movie in which all types of vehicles gain intellegence on their own, and decide they don't like people and start killing everyone....anyway  has anyone seen any missions like this, or have any ideas how to do it?  Seems to me it would take a mod for driverless vehicles but perhaps not, silly I know, but could be a lot of fun too..........

I suppose you'd have to make an invisible loon - of a particular side - that could drive a vehicle.    Game logics don't drive vehicles, they teleport from waypoint to waypoint.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

Maybe if U setpos the vehicle each 0.05 sec for 0.1 m?

U would have a slideshow of 20fps,meanwhile the vehc would be 2 meters further.

Ehm:2m/sec:--speed =72 km/Hour. (45 miles/hour)

End with the position of the unit u want to drive over. ;D

Eh it would only work in a straight line when no objects are between vehic-unit.

7.2km/h :)

And it would probably look like shit since the in-game physics wouldnt come to use. (unless you attempt to do whatever the game engine does)

Making a car with a hidden driver position would probably do the trick and not be too much work (put him in the trunk!)
