Object ID # --- What the hell is that !?

I hear everybody talking of Object ID # in editor and when u zoom vrry close in that you can see it, i don't c anything. Does it have to do whit Editor Upgrade 1.02??? Could some one explain pls.

make sure you are in "advanced" mode. (if not, click on "easy" top right corner of the editor).

Now click on  "show ID's".

Not sure if you need the editor update for this (but who can live without it?)

I got it always in advance mode :), i think i just overlooked the button. i'll check it out.

Turning off street lights is one use, camcreating at them etc also.

Basicly for manipulating map objects if i understood it right :p

I used it for detecting if a fuelstation was blown up etc.

ah now i get it a little :), i started making islands today ( i was working on a mission that was near complition but i deleted it cause i thaugt it was somting else :( ), do you need Object ID for building islands? Like for use of a script?

Basicly doing anything to objects in the game world (The islands)
You can use stuff like object 10101 setdammage 1 to destroy bridges etc
I've tried, but failed.. Can you use "deletevehicle object 10101"?

I have no idea :-X, btw island building is nothing for me ::) il stick to missions ;D  

Can you use Object ID's for WP's???

afaik the map objects can not be deleted/moved as it was used in MP cheats... So BIS blocked that to stop those cheats happening...

Yes, you can use object ID's with waypoints...

[groupOne, 1] setWPPos (position object objectID)

Check the Com Ref for the use of setWPPos... :P
I'm too lazy to explain... ;D

Never tested this actually, so no guarantees whether it works or not... ::)
