New Mod: Topic Summary

Hi guys!

This morning I implemented a new feature for the board that i call the 'topic summary mod'. Basically i took the topic summary that appears when replying to a topic, and made that available from the message index.

just hit the little '>' icon just to the left of the topic title in the message index, and a new window will open containing the topic summary.

at the moment you can reply to the topic (hit 'reply' at the bottom), instant message a poster or reply with quote.

i'll add more features when i get a chance.

hopefully this will speed up your experience with the forum, because you can now view every post in a given topic with a single click, without loading the excess gumf that comes with the display of a normal topic.

the triangles are very harsh - i'll find a friendlier icon eventually. unless anyone wants to volunteer an icon? or suggest where the icon would be better placed?

well since its a topic summary - thats would mean it brings up info on the topic

what about a small blue 'i' like at information centres...
it works for them

How's about using a pistol icon or a grenade or some such??      Maybe crosshairs or a target too.   ;D

Any chance you could reverse the order the replies are displayed in?

So that the most recent replies appear at the top, in the same way as when you reply to a topic, the topic summary goes from the latest reply down to the first one.

It'd make it easier + quicker to see if you wanted to bother reading the new posts.

Its kinda disappointing to get down to the bottom of a topic to find "Hey good idea", or "That's looking great"  ;D

Now, there's an original idea, m8   if it's possible with yabb & all, it would rock to
visit an allover army/camo site  

Though the time it would take to put such stuff on the boards
plus the thought of all these speed consuming images/icons is
probably reason enough to hear a comment from whesley snYpes & Co. similar to this one:

"No, you will not get any of this cheery stuff."   :moon: ;D
