How can you replace the texture of the compass

I am with a group called STO [STRIKE TACTICAL OPERATIONS] and am looking for a way to replace the standard ofp compass texture. The original is ok for basic land nav, and telling some one on TS a quick direction to the enemy, But when your a FO and need to give exact mill headings, it is a bit lacking, I have a paa texture ready to replace the original, , But that is were my skills end .  I would like to make a small install pack so anyone that would like a better compass face coud just run the install and play without messing up the game or joining a server and showing up as a cheater because your file is diffirent.  I do graphics and suck at scripting.... any help on this would be great...  http://www.stogroup.us, http://www.deltadigital.us click on the old mans face!

Also, I can make the compass rose above for any group/clan out there, so this could be a benifit to all!
