Tank Expert Needed
« on: 03 Dec 2002, 12:52:29 »
Hi,

I'm coding a Leopard AS1 and I want to get it as accurate as possible. I'm trying to figure out exactly how powerful to make the 105mm APFSDS and HEAT rounds. 105mm Rifled L-7 APFSDS and 105mm NATO APFSDS both have a penetration rating of up to 80mm, against what I'm not sure, I think steel / composite. So if anyone has accurate info on the effectivness of a 105mm APFSDS against any tank currently in OFP that would be great so I can make the Leopard AS1 as accurate as possible.

Thanks.

The Leopard AS1 is the Australian version of the Leopard 1 tank. Info can be found at http://www.army.gov.au/equipment/leopard.htm

It'd be easier if it was a Leopard 2 cos it's got the same gun as the M1A1/A2 Abrams and Challenger.
The original M1 Abrams had a 105mm rifled barell gun, don't know if it the same as the one in the Leopard 1 though  :-\
Don't know if these are of any use to you:

weapons[]={Gun105,MachineGun7_6};
      magazines[]={Heat105,Shell105,MachineGun7_6};

(M60 weapons, uses a 105mm NATO cannon)
