since i didnt get any replies i decided to try my hand at island making here an alpha version of my UK island

It's a good island (terrain-wise). Although, it could use some higher mountains. Textures, as you mentioned, need replacing. Consider adding snow textures at northern Scotland, maybe even winter trees. There is also one issue with the shores - some of them look too sharp.
