Voice chat for MP missions
« on: 22 Jul 2004, 22:52:07 »
Hi, i couldnt really find anywhere more suitable to ask about this  :-[, but I would like to find a (preferably) free voice chat app so players can actaully talk to each other on multiplayer missions rather than type away at the keyb and get shot.

Please can someone recommend something? I looked at that app called Skype, but i need a app which works on LAN rather than just the internet.
Using dial-up means that anything internet based isnt an option.
I am looking for something 2 or 3 players can use on LAN. Although when ADSL comes, I will have larger activities running on a dedicated net server, and could use something for chat on that if possible.

Hope someone has some ideas, sorry this post is in such an odd place  ::)

I really recommend Ventrilo, if you're more than two.
One sets up a server on his computer and the other (and himself) connects to it through the client software.

It's great. You can set a hotkey or just set the sensitivity and just talk right out...

I think it's better than Teamspeak. But if I play with only one frien, we use MSN Messenger. No lag, great sound...
