Radio pickup- how?
« on: 28 May 2004, 00:46:03 »
I'm trying to get a helicopter to come and land at a specified point using waypoints. The chopper moves when a jeep has been destroyed and a radio message called "Call for pickup" appears on the radio. After selecting the radio message, nothing happens and the chopper stays put.

I've linked a trigger set to 'radio alpha' to the first waypoint (Actually set on top of the chopper) and I've managed to get the radio message to appear when the jeep snuffs, but I can't get the chopper to respond.

I have two seperate triggers: One connected to the jeep
(1 setradiomsg "Call For Backup" is in the activation field) and another connected to the chopper (no script, just 'radio alpha' as a trigger.) What else do I need to do?

You're on the right lines.    There is a working example of this in the Tutorial Mission in the Ed Depot.    See how its done in there and copy it.  (The chopper comes in a blows up a tank rather than landing, but the principle is identical).

In summary, the chopper should be on a hold waypoint.  Synchro  this waypoint with the radio trigger, which should be type switch.   There's a tute on switch triggers in the ed depot.

Lol I know what you mean.   It's in the Getting Started section - you should look at most if not all of the tutes in there even if you don't study every one.
