How do you create your own mod?
« on: 01 Jul 2003, 03:57:13 »
Here is my problem.  I want to have an assload of addons, but when my addons folder goes over 1gb, OFP crashes.  So here is my idea.  I want to divide my addons into different catagories, i.e. WW2 addons, Vietnam addons etc... Then I want to create seperate mods i.e. WWII mod Vietnam mod etc.  This way only the specified addons will be loaded, and in theory OFP won't crash.  However I'm not sure exactly how to do it.  I was told that if you create subfolders in the addons folder, put your specified addons in this folder, and then put -mod=foldername at the end of the command line in your shortcut, you could create your own mods.  Unfortunately I can't get it to work.  What am I doing wrong?

There's a couple of tutorials in the Editors Depot on how to use Mod Folders.
One by Hawkins, the other by dreaming_adam

Have a nosy here and do a search on 'folder'. ;)

Enjoy!
