You need to set your players to a "careless" status by waypoint or trigger
or you could type in the Initialization field of the loon,

loon1 setbehaviour "careless"

 :) there's also an action spell to use:



STR_ACTION_WEAPONINHAND
 W. in hand
 
STR_ACTION_WEAPONONBACK
 W. on back

e.g.

Bob Action ["WeaponOnBack"]
