i can't seem to get the "CutPBO" part to work of the process...I have the cutpbo and copied O.PBO in the same directory...I dragged O.PBO into the cutpbo.exe and it opens up in DOS window and it says "All Ok 46 bytes cutted"  If i hit any button or try to close it crashes and it never made a new pbo file....any ideas?

Well, I have never used this Cutpbo tool.

So unfortunately I am unable to advise on its use.

Why not try using a hex editor as detailed earlier in this thread, to make a suitable O.pbo.

Ok......try here:

http://download.com.com/3000-2352-10016142.html

And remember......only work on a copy of the O.pbo, DO NOT edit the original O.pbo.

mhm...ok, I did this once before, but I don't remember how :-\ I need to use the bridge from res, not the big one, but the small one which is in the res data3d. How do I do this? I think I did something in hexedit the last time I did this.

Sounds like this thread is fun. :)
Ok. I have made my first island (looks crappy, but at least its a start). I have cut the first 46 bytes out of a copy of O.pbo in the OFP/DTA folder. Now Wrpedit sees the new o.pbo, and load it in.
THe problem I have is that when I insert an object Wrpedit tells me that the object is not loaded. The object instance shows on the map, but in Wrpedit viewer the land is as barren as before. Yet! In OFP the object is standing nice and pretty where it should be.
Any suggestions to overcoming the elusive Resistance objects not being loaded for view in Wrpedit Viewer.

@Colonel Klink

Just to check a few points here:

Your edited O.pbo file should now begin:

41 6E 69 6D 5C 61 74 32 70 6B 6C 65 6B 31 2E 72
74 6D 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 B1

It should be in the original OFP\Dta folder

It should still be named O.pbo

The original O.pbo should still be in Res\Addons

If all the following is correct then I am at a loss to explain why this is so.

How do you add the Resistance objects?
Do you use the 'O' folder entry in the Pb Manager in WrpEdit?
If so, this is correct.

Everything is exactly as you say Planck. I'm at a total loss too. Will experiment some more.
Thanks anyway.

Problem solved. I was using Hexedit to cut the bytes. When I used cutpbo it worked perfectly.
