Is the AVRE is Armoured Vehicle Royal Engineers, the Cheiftain (or is it a Challenger?) with the dozer blades, fascine bundles and dirty great big winch, for towing tanks out of ditches? Wouldn't that be a bit of a waste of time for OFP, since there's usually no need to tow something out of a ditch, and you can't deform the terrain (therefore you can't dig with the blades). I think some scripting could sort out the fascine bundles, but there aren't many AT ditches in OFP  :(

The Chiefy Bridgelayer would be a worthwhile addon, if it worked alright. Maybe if someone made an island with some rivers or ditches we could bridge, we could all put our Sapper hats on and get engineering  :D

Anyone thought of doing the Centurion AVRE? It's similar to the current AVRE, except it's based on the Centurion (natch), and has a bloody great big 165mm snub-nosed demolition gun rather than the RO 105mm gun. The gun's designed for knocking out fortifications, infantry positions, demolishing houses and other fun things, but if you were to hit a T80 with it, I'm sure Ivan would be a bit sore  ;D

the AVRE is on both the centurion and the chieftain, but the centurion is more known than the cheiftan because the chieftan usally holds those tank ditches thingys without the huge demolition gun, ive got a centurion, which i could xpack and edit, but i cant !!!!!!!! so i think i will ave to build from scratch

Someone should make the tank training grounds at Bovington in Dorset, plenty of knife-edges and ditches to rattle round, or so my Dad tells me  ;D

...
Step 3 - Script called to swap model to extended bridge model
...
Step 5 - Script swaps model for tank without bridge model and adds model of bridge in front of it which can be driven over.
...

Swapping models is a real hard task especially if it should work in multiplayer and for vehicles with crew.

i could always have a single bridge that works like a door or hatch on a axis and just flips 180' (like the chieftan avlb)
